Ricky Seals-Jones is back on the market!

Something that almost never happens happened today when Ricky Seals-Jones, one of the top 2 or 3 recruits in the state of Texas for 2013, decommitted from the Texas Longhorns today and reopened his commitment. RSJ (as he is and will be known henceforth) committed to the Longhorns in February either at or right after their first Junior Day. from a quick glance at OrangeBloods, UT fans are a bit apoplectic about the whole deal at the moment.

I embedded the tweet from Greg Powers that (I think) broke the story. Powers now has a story up with quotes from RSJ about his decision where he confirmed that it was largely his improvement on the basketball court that motivated him to look again at his options. Mack Brown and company were not apparently thrilled that he wants a chance to play basketball and football at the next level, but LSU, Texas A&M, and Baylor are all willing to give him the chance.

I think I've mentioned before that RSJ, who is from Sealy, Texas, is actually related to one of my favorite signees from Baylor's 2012 class: Shamycheal Chapman. The two are cousins and reportedly quite close. I doubt that it will matter much, if at all, but it could be something to help Baylor get its foot in the door and let Art Briles/Scott Drew make a combo sell and bring RSJ to Waco.

Here is the latest from SBNation Recruiting about the situation including a great scouting report from Wescott Eberts. Take a look if you want to know more about one of our state's elite recruits in 2013.
