We're now in that weird lull where the 2011-2012 athletic year is nearly over and the news for the 2012-2013 year hasn't really started happening yet.

Baylor Baseball defeated DBU 8-2 last night to become Regional Champions and advance to play Arkansas in the NCAA Super Regional, hosted here at the Baylor Ballpark. The first game of the best-of-three series will be played at 4:00 PM on Saturday, June 9th, and will be televised on ESPNU. Reserved All-Session tickets are already sold out, but there are still $15 General Admission tickets.

The Arkansas Razorbacks are 42-19, and swept their way through the Houston Regional, defeating ( SHSU and Rice to advance to the Super Regional. Arkansas's SBNation site is here. The Razorbacks were ranked 19th in the NCAA rankings, and have an RPI ranking of 12. (Baylor is ranked 4th in NCAA and have an RPI of 4, according to WarrenNolan.com).

Over on ESPN, David Ubben says that K.J. Morton is one of the most underrated players on the Baylor Football team, and picks him to be one of the rising stars of next season.

And, as of a few minutes ago, Baylor Baseball 1B Max Muncy was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 5th round (pick #169) of the 2012 MLB Draft. Baseball America has an interview with him from March here.

ETA: Baylor Baseball C Josh Ludy was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 8th round (pick #278) of the 2012 MLB Draft.

ETA2: Baylor Baseball OF Logan Vick was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 11th round (pick #353) of the 2012 MLB Draft.
