After a weekend off (sorry about that, by the way), the red lights are flashing and we are officially on commitment watch for the 2013 class. Mineola LB Dac Shaw, who SBNation scouted in May, is reportedly close to committing to Baylor's 2013 class over the likes of Texas A&M, TCU, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech (the link goes to his Rivals offer list). A member of 247Sports' Top247 (meaning he is one of the best players in the country by their rankings), Shaw's offer list probably doesn't reflect his true skill. As Wescott described in the link above, Shaw is a dynamic playmaker who will fit right in to a defensive scheme at Baylor that prioritizes speed above all else, particularly from the linebacker position.
At this point, I've seen conflicting reports from Baylor subscription sites saying that Shaw either will commit soon or has already committed. I'm not entirely sure of the truth but feel confident given the lack of confirmation that it hasn't happened yet. As soon as it does, and it should, I will let you know. Until then, satisfy yourself with the highlight video I embedded above and another from HUDL. I'll have a complete writeup about Shaw as soon as it becomes official.
