You couldn't really ask for a better situation than winning the first game of a series and still having your ace left to play, and that's what happened yesterday for Baylor in its 8-1 win over Arkansas. Trent Blank acted every bit the part of an ace by dominating the Razorback lineup for 8 full innings and set the stage for Baylor to punch its ticket to the 2012 College World Series today with Josh Turley on the mound. Baylor can also win its 50th game of the season to notch 10-30-40-50 win campaigns across the four major sports.
I'm pretty excited about that, to be truthful with you.
Just like yesterday's game, today's contest will be available on ESPN3 and ESPNU, so watch if you get the chance. I'm not sure The Year of the Bear would be complete without a trip to Omaha for Smitty's boys.
I'll update the box score below the jump as the game goes on.
