Ha! I tricked you into clicking on this because Baylor might have one player taken today, C Philip Blake, but will probably its remaining carry likely picks into the final day of the Draft tomorrow. So the entire premise for a Day 2 primer is flawed. The best hope for Blake today is that a run on OL starts somewhere in the third round and he gets snatched up. No centers have been taken so far, which isn't surprising considering it is the rare center that goes in the first round, and only one guard (David DeCastro) and two tackles (Riley Reiff and Matt Kalil) are off the board so far. Once again, here is the official Draft Central for Baylor Football.
Though I like him quite a bit, I don't see Terrance Ganaway having a true chance at getting drafted tonight unless a team that fell in love with him decides to reach. He'll probably be available in the fourth round pretty much all the way through, and I hope he and the aforementioned Blake go to the Dallas Cowboys. They won't, though, because the Cowboys traded their second round pick and will almost certainly go with a DL pick in the third before hitting the OL in the fourth and maybe picking up a RB or a WR in the fifth and beyond. We'll see.
In case you forgot, the lineup for tonight begins one hour earlier than last night (6 PM this time) on ESPN and the NFL Network. The time limit for draft picks that was 15 minutes in the first round will be reduced to 7 minutes in the second round tonight before being reduced even further in the third (also tonight), and the fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh rounds tomorrow.
