BAYLOR
(35-7, 18-0) Rank: #6

Another game, another late-inning deficit, and another Baylor Baseball victory leading to another Big XII sweep. Oh, and another record set by Baylor's 24th consecutive victory, a new conference record. Joey Hainsfurther started for the Bears and performed admirably, if not perfectly, for the Bears, allowing 2 runs in 4.1 IP with 8 hits and 3 strikeouts. The bullpen then followed with 4.2 innings of 3-hit ball and allowed only 3 unearned runs including Max "El Pirata" Garner's 8th save of the season.

In the larger context of events, today's win marks the 115th in the 2011-2012 academic year from the Big 4 sports (FB, MBB, WBB, and Baseball). From Ashley Hodge of BearsTruth.com...

Baylor streak hits 24 after sweep of A&M - Houston Chronicle
WACO - Fourteen pitches in the first inning personified Baylor's record-setting winning streak - one that reached 24 games and had fans waving a few brooms and chanting "Big 12" on a breezy, beautiful Sunday afternoon at Baylor Ballpark. For their part, the Southeastern Conference-bound Aggies (28-12, 9-6 Big 12) left Waco for the final scheduled time with a collective dry mouth after the Bears won all three games of the series. The Bears (35-7, 18-0), in setting the Big 12 record for consecutive wins along the way, won 5-3 on Friday at College Station and 1-0 on Saturday at Baylor Ballpark. Ryan Smith (2-0), a freshman and the coach's son, earned his first Big 12 victory by tossing 22⁄3 scoreless innings late in the game.
