Buoyed by a season ERA of 1.00, Baylor's baseball team has raced out now to its best season-opening start since 2008 at 5-0. It's obviously still early, but fans of Baylor's baseball team, which has faced somewhat lean times the last couple of years by its standards, have to be excited about how things are going so far. The latest win tonight came over Texas State, hardly a baseball powerhouse, at Dell Diamond in Round Rock. We should know a lot more after this weekend, when Baylor travels to #22 UCLA for a 3-game set. Emerge from that series undefeated and we'd REALLY have something.

Here is the recap from BaylorBears.com with statistics from today's game. I know Miles is probably planning to tell you more about this game and this team than I ever could. I am extremely happy, though, that baseball season is upon us!*

*Pictures are going to be pretty lean for a while about all of college baseball since I doubt much attention is being paid to these early games, so bear with us.
