Daily Bears Report 12.05.2012

US PRESSWIRE

Great news, first: Baylor extended Art Briles to a long term deal! Hurrah!

Baylor Men's Basketball lost last night to Northwestern, 74-70 after being down double digits most of the second half, making me wonder if now we can be the best three-loss team. A severe lack of rebounding and oddly poor free-throw shooting contributed to Baylor's inconsistency reappearing. This hopefully will be simply one of those weird losses that give commentators something to talk about in March and April, rather than a sign of things to come. Isaiah Austin had just 8 points and 4 rebounds, which is the opposite of good. But hey! At least we aren't Texas, who also were the opposite of good last night!

Baylor Soccer ended the year ranked the highest they've ever been in the NSCAA poll, finishing 11th in the nation. The Bears are the country's only 1-loss program, and looks to return next year as a NCAA tournament contender.

The Baylor Lady Bears are at Notre Dame tonight for a rematch of the National Championship, televised on ESPN 2.

And since the Big 12 season awards are being announced, I'd better hit publish and turn it over to that!
