Both of Baylor's basketball teams start their regular season this afternoon, as I'm sure you're well aware, and they'll both be televised on Fox Sports Southwest, if you're not able to get to the Ferrell Center. The (1) Lady Bears take on Lamar at 12:05 PM as they begin their national title defense and the (18/19) Bears start their season versus surprise NCAA tournament team Lehigh at 4:00 PM.
Baylor Tennis' Julian Lenz won in straight sets yesterday, advancing to the round of 16 in the ITA Indoor Championship held in New York. Lenz, a freshman, defeated 101st-ranked Florent Diep of Florida, and looks to take on Pepperdine's Sebastian Fanselow and move to the round of 8. Baylor Tennis also picked up a top-10 recuit yesterday, when Kiah Generette committed to Baylor Women's Tennis for Spring 2013. Generette, ranked as the no. 9 recruit in the country and the no. 3 player in California, chose Baylor over LSU, Oklahoma State, and Texas A&M.
11th-ranked and 3rd-seeded Baylor Soccer takes on Arizona State tonight, in Arizona, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, and senior midfielder Lisa Silwinski is determined that it not be the last game of her playing career. The Bears hope to improve on last year's tournament and advance beyond the second-round, and tonight look for their first NCAA tournament road win.
If you're looking for something to do tonight after the men's basketball game, Baylor Baseball will probably still be playing in their second fall baseball game of the year, a 14-inning contest against Temple College (start time is 4:00 PM). Admission is free, and the weather should be perfect to watch some Baylor baseball.
Gifs! Football! Basketball! Silliness! And a gif of a guy trying to become the field!
