It's almost finals time! Oh, sleepless nights and all that fun stuff.
Baylor Women's Basketball defeated Rice yesterday evening, 89-49 in Houston. The Lady Bears were led by Brittney Griner's 35 points, while Brooklyn Pope had 17 and Destiny Williams had 12 points and 10 rebounds. Star point guard Odyssey Sims was on the bench again for the Lady Bears with freshman Niya Johnson starting in her place. Johnson finished with 11 assists, one turnover, and praise from head coach Kim Mulkey. The Lady Bears play next at no. 5 Notre Dame on December 5th, and return to Waco to play Oral Roberts on December 12th.
Baylor Football's ground game has finally achieved on the level of the famous passing game this year, with the dangerous running combination of Lache Seastrunk and Glasco Martin propelling the Bears' offense to a 3rd bowl game in a row. Seastrunk (better known as #FreeLache on this blog) is averaging 128.8 yards per game, including some particularly memorable runs. The Bears play Oklahoma State this weekend at 11:00 AM at Floyd Casey in the last game of the regular season. Speaking of the passing game, Baylor WR Terrance Williams was named to the American Football Coaches Association 2012 All-American team, along with other top football players across the nation.
Finally, how about some pitching? If you're interested at all in really really pretty pitches (spoiler alert: Clayton Kershaw's curveball) click here. It's good. If you're not a baseball person...come back tomorrow.
