Just a few things on this Friday morning!
Where there once was the Bear Pit there is now open student seating on a first-come, first-serve basis during both men's and women's basketball games. Bear Pit shirts are still available, but not the striped jerseys, and that is the extent of the former student organization, which was voted to disband by the student government last semester. This will be a trial year to see if the student body fills those seats regularly and enthusiastically, and the issue may be reevaluated if those seats regularly stay empty.
Continuing on with basketball, the Lariat looks at the freshmen and redshirt junior Lady Bears that hope to contribute to an already strong team. No. 2 ranked 2013 center Dominic Woodson committed to Baylor Men's Basketball yesterday, becoming the third member of an already strong 2013 class. Woodson, a 6' 9" senior from West Virginia, was rumored to pick Baylor after North Carolina State showed intent to focus on fellow recruit BeeJay Anya .
Baylor Soccer will play in an all-Texan Big 12 final four today when they take on Texas Tech tonight at 8:00 PM in San Antonio, while Texas will play TCU at 5:30 PM. The Bears are looking to advance from the second round for the first time, and continue their highly successful year.
If you're not able to make it to Waco for Homecoming this year, you can still see the parade live on Baylor's website, and it will be broadcast to the Waco regional area in high-definition. This homecoming tradition, over 100 years old, will feature more than 160 entries and 11 floats, along with both the Baylor University Golden Wave Band and the University High School marching band.
Football! Football! Football! Gifs! Here they are!
