The Lady Bears revealed their Big 12 and National Championship banners last night before blowing out no.6/7 Kentucky 85-51. The Wildcats kept the game close until Baylor went on a 17-0 scoring run led by Odyssey Sims and continued keep the game out of reach for Kentucky. This game was expected to be the first test for the defending champions, and they now face Stanford on the 16th in the first round of the Rainbow Wahine Classic, held in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Baylor Football faces no. 1 BCS team Kansas State on Saturday, looking for a win to move closer to earning a third consecutive bowl berth. The Bears have defeated the Wildcats the last two time they've visited Floyd Casey Stadium, and narrowly lost last year's game in Kansas, but the math is sadly not on Baylor's side right now, with the defense having to have the best game of the season in order for Baylor's explosive offense to have a chance.
16/17 Baylor Men's Basketball heads to Charleston, South Carolina tomorrow to face Boston College in the first game of the ESPN Charleston Classic. This is the first time the Bears have faced the Eagles in program history, and the game will be televised at 2:00 PM tomorrow on ESPNU. Big 12 Rookie of the Week Isaiah Austin might return from an ankle injury in this game, and guard Brady Heslip will play his first game against his former college.
Baylor Volleyball takes on TCU today at 5:00 PM on FSSW in Fort Worth. The Bears defeated West Virginia 3-0 in their last game and have an 18-10, 5-8 record and face the 14-11, 3-9 Horned Frogs, who are coming off a 3-0 win over Texas Tech.
