Rick Osentoski-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

So what did we ever decide to call this rivalry thing? The Revivalry? Will there be tee-shirts?

Despite being off this weekend, Baylor Football received more votes in the AP and the USA Today polls yesterday, moving them to "27th," just out of the official rankings. The Bears re-open a historic rivalry this weekend against TCU, with an all-time record of 50-50-7. In case you don't remember, Baylor beat TCU last year to start an eventual 10 win season, and look to defeat a potentially weakened Horned Frog team again this weekend at Floyd Casey Stadium. ESPN Dallas has an interview with Nick Florence from last Friday where he talks about Baylor, going to WVU and what he sees Baylor Football doing going forward.

Baylor Soccer defeated Texas Tech 3-2 in double overtime on Friday night on a goal by freshman Bri Campos in the 105th minute. This is the first time since 2004 that the Bears have defeated the Raiders at Lubbock, and ended a six-game home winning streak while scoring as many goals in one match as Tech had allowed all year.

Even though the Bears sped out to a quick start, Baylor Volleyball is 0-4 in conference play with a heartbreaking 5-set loss to (24) Kansas. The Bears are 13-6 overall, but fell 3-2 Saturday at the Horejsi Center. Zoe Adom had a career high 20 kills and Hope Ogden registered a career high 19 digs. The Bears will attempt to break their losing streak in their next match this Wednesday, October 10th in the Ferrell Center against Texas Tech (11-9, 0-4).

Baylor Women's Tennis finished their play at the Riviera/ITA All-American with a loss in the second round of consolation doubles play. Ema Burgic and Jordaan Sanford were defeated by Annie Goransson and Anett Schutting of California, 8-2 on Saturday, and Burgic finished her singles run with a 6-1 record, after making it to the main draw. The Lady Bears' next competition starts October 19th in the USTA/ITA Regional Championships hosted at the Hurd Tennis Center.

Baylor Basketball ceremonially begins their season this Friday with Moonlight Madness televised on ESPNU held from 7:00-9:00 PM at the Ferrell Center. The Lady Bears have their Welcome Back dinner this Tuesday at 6:30 in the Ferrell Center.
