Just a few weeks until basketball season starts! It's odd how much it feels like it was yesterday that I was sitting in the Ferrell Center watching the Lady Bears wrap up their National Championship run with that victory over Notre Dame.
Baylor Soccer moved up 14 spots to number 21 in the NCAA RPI rankings this week after the Bears' win over the Kansas Jayhawks last weekend. The Bears are looking to eclipse their 15-4-3 record from last year, and move farther in the NCAA tournament than they did last year.
Saturday after next's game against TCU will be aired live nationally on FSN, the Big 12 announced yesterday. Kickoff for that game is at 6:00 PM CT at Floyd Casey Stadium. That weekend is also Baylor Parent and Family weekend, so hopefully there will be a lot more green and gold than purple filling the stands of the Case!
Men's Tennis was perfect yesterday at the ITA All-American Championships held at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The day was highlighted by freshman Julian Lenz's upset of the first seed singles player,Virginia's 49th-ranked Justin Shane. Teammate Marko Krickovic also upset 7th seed Daniil Prosukra of Alabama, and both look to defeat ranked opponents today.
Baylor Baseball four-year letterwinner Gregg Glime has returned to the Bears, this time as their new volunteer assistant coach. Glime will have regular season coaching duties as well as running Baylor Baseball's summer camps and the Baylor Baseball Academy. Glime spent two seasons playing professional baseball in the Florida Marlins organization, including playing for the Triple-A New Orleans Zephyrs last season.
