Your Lady Bears took down a strong Kansas team yesterday, 75-55 in the Big 12 home opener, keeping their home winning streak alive. Odyssey Sims led the team with 30 points, while freshman Nina Davis returned to her double-digit scoring ways with 19 points. The Lady Bears continue Big 12 play at West Virginia this Wednesday.
The men's team opens their Big 12 season with a game at no. 13 Iowa State this Tuesday, their first real test since playing then-no. 3 Kentucky. The Bears only have one loss on the season, to no. 2 Syracuse.
Bri Campos, Baylor soccer sophomore midfielder, has earned a spot on Mexico's U-20 National Team. The Mexican team is trying to qualify for the 2014 U-20 World Cup, held in Canada this summer, and Campos is one of just 20 players to earn a spot on the final roster. The CONCACAF Championship will be in the Cayman Islands from Jan. 9-19.
Baylor men's tennis will start their 2014 season ranked no. 8 with four ranked singles players, the ITA announced last Thursday. Baylor sophomore Julian Lenz is currently ranked no. 2 in the country, with Patrick Pradella ranked seventh, and Diego Galeano and Tony Lupieri also ranked. The women start their season ranked no. 19 in the country, and Kiah Generette representing the Lady Bears in the singles rankings at no. 38.
