This is the first time that Burt has been honored with this award, and the first time this season for the Bears. The game against West Virginia will kick off at 7 p.m. on Oct. 5, and will be broadcast nationally on Fox Sports 1. This is also the game that the town of West is invited to, so there should be a great crowd. Baylor men's basketball has partnered with local schools to create a "Read-to-Win" program, head coach Scott Drew announced Monday. A total of 1,116 students will participate in the program, which will provide tickets for one of four non-conference home games, as well as incentives for reading achievements.
Volleyball defeated the University of Houston in five sets Saturday night, finishing the Flo Hyman Collegiate Cup with a 2-1 record and in second place. Junior Nicole Bardaji had Baylor's best performance in the tournament with 37 kills. The Bears now face UTSA in their final non-conference match tonight at 7 p.m. in the Ferrell Center.
