Daily Bears Report 04.09.2013

I know, I said I was done...but she won another award! - USA TODAY Sports

Rather short for a DBR, today.

Brittney Griner was announced as the repeat winner of the Naismith Award and Wade Award last night, cementing her legacy as one of the few to be named Player of the Year by multiple organizations in back to back years. She was also named the WBCA Defensive PoY after breaking the all-time shot block record this season. Griner was also named the AP Player of the Year, as well as to multiple All-America teams. She also spoke with ESPN's Holly Rowe about what's in the future, for her, and about NBA possibilities.

Baylor Baseball hosts UT Arlington today, looking to move above .500 for the second time all season. The Bears will turn to Sean Spicer for the midweek start in a rematch of one of last year's NCAA regional game. Conditions permitting, the game will start at 6:35 PM at Baylor Ballpark.

Baylor Men's Basketball comes in at no. 21 in Jason King's Very Early Top 25 for next season, and could win the Big 12 in what should be a "down year." Most of this hinges on whether or not Cory Jefferson returns for his senior year or leaves early for the NBA.
