Pierre Jackson named Big XII Preseason Player of the Year

Kevin Jairaj-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Senior guard Pierre Jackson is no stranger to the limelight, and this year he'll get it after a fantastic junior campaign where he led Baylor to the Elite 8.

Baylor guard Pierre Jackson was honored this morning by the Big XII Conference as the Preseason Player of the Year in men's basketball, the second straight year that a Baylor player was so honored. Let's hope this season finishes a little better for Jackson than last year did for Perry Jones III.

Here's the rest of the preseason awards, via the Big XII Conference's official release. I'm somewhat surprised that Isaiah Austin didn't get Freshman of the Year.
