#9 for 2014 is WR Ishmael Zamora

9 days ago, a lanky WR from Alief Elsik won gold at the Texas state track meet in the 110 meter hurdles, posting a time of 13.70 seconds. His name is Ishmael Zamora, and tonight he became Baylor's 9th commit of the 2014 class.

OT Patrick Lawrence commits to Baylor

Baylor fans got another bit of welcome news yesterday with the commitment of Waxahachie OT Patrick Lawrence, our first true OT in the 2014 class. He was on campus, liked what he saw, and pulled the trigger for Art Briles and company.

Baylor swings a 2014 switch at DE

Baylor's seventh commit is in the books, and this time, finally, it's on the defensive side of the ball. We expected offense to be a heavy focus in this class, but where's the D, guys? Hopefully Mr. Jones is just the beginning.

TE Jordan Feuerbacher is #6 for 2014

Consumers typically look for three things when they look at sources for news: they want it quick, they want it cheap, and they want it accurate. You don't pay me anything, anyway, so I'm going to try to bat 2/3 on the news of Baylor's sixth commit.

May 2013 Recruiting Notes (UPDATED 5/22)

At the beginning of the month of May, Baylor stands at 5 commitments for the 2014 class. Word is we should expect more any day. This is the running thread for updates through May as camps begin and school years begin to end.

Commit #5 is OT Josh Pelzel

Baylor's Scout and Rivals boards are reporting now that the Bears reeled in commitment #5 for the 2014 class today in Rockdale OT Josh Pelzel. Given the relatively down year for OL prospects in Texas, securing the first OT in this class is huge.

Commit #4 is OG Devonte Jones

The big man from Bellaire, Texas didn't take long to figure out where he wanted to be. Baylor offered on Thursday, he visited Friday, and this morning, he pulled the trigger.

April 2013 Recruiting Notes (UPDATED 5/1)

There seems to be quite a bit going on in the world of recruiting at the moment, so I figured I'd make a thread to compile everything and keep it updated throughout the month. We've done this before and things worked well.

Cornwell headlines Dallas Elite 11 performers

The Dallas Elite 11 camp produced a single invite to the Elite 11 finals, but many of the top quarterbacks lived up to their billing and several under-the-radar players emerged.

Baylor Spring Scrimmage Preview

The last time most Baylor fans saw the green and gold on a field of play, the Bears were thrashing UCLA in the Holiday Bowl. Tomorrow, they will take the field in Waco ready to start the 2013-2014 season. The Spring Scrimmage is here.

Star WR Kd Cannon visiting Baylor for spring game

The Baylor Bears will be hosting perhaps their top overall target in the 2014 class on Saturday when Mount Pleasant (Texas) wide receiver Kd Cannon visits Waco for the spring game.

Stud 2014 WR KD Cannon unofficially visits Baylor

After Cannon was unable to make it to Baylor's first junior day a few weeks ago, there was some speculation whether he was interested in the Bears, after all. That seems to be going out the door today as he finds himself in Waco.

Honoring Randall Cunningham, Sr.

The Executive Council of ODB, having achieved a quorum upon the positive votes of Messrs Moore and Francis and assuming similar responses from the remaining members, has decided to bestow upon Randall Cunningham honorary membership in Baylor Nation.

2014 Recruit to Watch: Randall Cunningham, Jr.

Yeah, there's another Randall Cunningham. And he's a quarterback, if you can believe it. Baylor wants him enough to become his first offer (so far), and apparently the Bears are quite interested. As am I.
