On the strength of his late-season running, Baylor RB Lache Seastrunk has been named as the Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year.

This award is given in contrast to the Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year, which was Oklahoma State's J.W. Walsh. Seastrunk transferred to Baylor before last season, sat out when his petition for immediate eligibility was denied, and then played in every game this season, receiving most of his playing time in the last five games. In those games, he's been phenomenal, averaging over 7 yards per carry and positioning himself for a 1,000 yard rushing season with a strong performance in the Holiday Bowl against UCLA.

Lache has been freed, you guys.
