It was the first such honor for each player (Towey as player, Garner as pitcher) and the fourth time in Baylor history that it swept the weekly awards. After starting off the season 0-3 at the hands of UC-Irvine, Baylor heads into a midweek series with La Tech starting tomorrow as winners of 5 of their last 8 games.

I think it's safe to say based on the most-recent returns that Baylor Baseball is heating up a bit and may be rounding into the form we expected to see coming into this season. Last week's performances by Towey and Garner were a big part of that turnaround, and they have been honored by the Big 12 Conference as the Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for their efforts. Congratulations, guys!

Baylor takes the field again tomorrow versus Louisiana Tech in a two-game midweek series. I have no idea who we're sending to the hill for that game. Sean Spicer started our first midweek game of the season but only went 3 innings in what was basically a bullpen start. This is the first real midweek series of the season, so the rotation will be something interesting to watch for.
