A Canoe View of BU

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

My daughter and I decided that we'd take our canoe for a spin in the river today to get a good look at the stadium. While the weather was a little overcast, we were happy for the temperature to be in the mid 80's in July.

We put in at Doris Miller park and paddled past Buzzard Billie's, passing under the new bridges as well as the old. It doesn't show in the video but we saw them testing out the scoreboard as we had just the right angle to see it for a few moments.

One thing that struck me, other than the fact that the place is gorgeous, is that the lagoon is much larger than I thought it would be. While there were only nine boat slips that I assume will be able to handle eighteen small boats (my observations may be off with the numbers), it became very clear that there could literally be a hundred boats out there with room to move around, as long as they aren't trying to ski or something.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the video. We had a great time being out there and can't wait for the start of the '14 campaign. Sic'em Bears.
