Baylor's Extraordinary Season Has Changed Lives...How 5 BU B-Ball Players Accepted Christ

Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports

To all,

I didn't see this article posted on this site anywhere as written by our beloved David Ubben. It chronicles how five (5) Baylor B-Ball players accepted Christ this season just concluded. But just in case it hasn't been posted, I provided a link below because I thought it particularly appropriate to do so since this is the day that we acknowledge the sacrifice that God made through the crucifixion of his Son and my Savior, Jesus Christ.

As an aside, ironically I had the privilege of randomly meeting the current Pastor that travels with the Men's B-Ball team within a couple of days after the above article ran. And I can attest through his words that what happened this season within the Baylor program was truly extraordinary. During my conversation with him, the "Baylor" Pastor told me (paraphrasing) that for a college athlete who doesn't know Christ...there is no better place to go than Baylor (he didn't go there btw). A great guy--he was leaving the next day for the Sweet 16 round and we exchanged some texts then.

I am so very proud of Baylor for that reason as there is an obvious common thread between the University's mission and the fact that so many of our athletes are believers and Christian leaders> see Griffin, Florence, and Petty. Great examples to all.

Never underestimate Baylor's Christian heritage and mission as what separates our University from others by what it offers students, student athletes, and their families that way. It is so extremely rare what we have in Baylor and has to be a true recruiting advantage both academically and athletically. For confirmation, just ask Dabo Sweeney at Clemson how rare the Baylor experience is (see link).
