The Baylor Lady Bears led by as many as 37 points as the Bears took the season series over Kansas.

In their first game of the Big 12 Tournament the Baylor Lady Bears (27-4) rolled over the 8th seeded Kansas Jayhawks (13-19) 81-47.

Odyssey Sims scored 15 points on 6-of-17 shooting as she struggled with turnovers and foul trouble throughout the game. However, this Baylor team is so talented, they were able to use their depth to really pummel the Jayhawks.

10 of the 11 Lady Bears that played was able to get into the scoring column.

Baylor started out the game on a 20-4 burst. They found a way to defeat the Jayhawk will this afternoon. They limited the Jayhawks to just 26.5 percent shooting on 9-of-34 in the first half. Every chance that Baylor had, they used their length and size to push the Jayhawks outside of the paint. Baylor won the paint battle 50-22.

So many points for the Lady Bears were scored off turnovers today. The Lady Bears scored 26 points off 20 Jayhawk turnovers. They were able to pressure the ball, cut off passing lanes and really just put the Jayhawks in uncomfortable positions. They found a way to do it and they did it pretty easily.

Kansas made a run, spanning 2:23 late in the first half, cutting the deficit from 35-11 to 36-18. However, the Bears closed the half on an 8-2 run, really taking the momentum into halftime.

Baylor would push the lead to as many as 37 in the second half when Imani Wright hit two free throws, giving Baylor the 79-42 lead with 1:11 remaining.

Nina Davis was great for the Bears, she had 20 points, seven rebounds in the victory. Wright finished with nine points, four rebounds and 5-of-6 from the charity stripe. Mackenzie Robertson and Niya Johnson combined to contribute 13 for the Lady Bears. Khadijiah Cave had 10 points and six boards for Baylor as well.

The Lady Bears hit 23-of-27 free throws, for 85.2 percent, well above their season average of 74.3 percent.

For Baylor head coach, Kim Mulkey, she won her 26th game at the Big 12 Championships. That ranks her No. 1 in the Big 12 for most wins. Her winning percentage of .765 is also the tops in the conference.

Oklahoma St. Cowgirls and Baylor have met twice this season, with Baylor winning both meetings. You can pencil in that the Lady Bear's remember going to still water, and barely pulling out an overtime win, basically without Sims. That game will tip off at 2 p.m. on FS1 on Sunday, March 9th.
