Top Four Ways Baylor Men Will Not Make The Elite Eight

In the round of 64 (Nebraska):

Nebraska is a Big Ten school that plays like one. They are 272nd in the country in Points Per Game and 257th in Field Goal Percentage. Fun Fact…They haven’t played in the NCAA tournament in over 15 years.

1. If Nebraska holds Baylor to less than 60 points. In the 19 wins that the Cornhuskers have had, they have held their opponents to about 58.5 points. In the 12 losses, their opponents have scored almost 75 points.

In the round of 32 (Should be Creighton):

Creighton shouldn’t have a problem with the Ragin’ Cajuns of Louisiana-Lafayette. La-La(as I like to call them) has only faced two ranked opponents all year, both ending in blow out losses.

Creighton is a new member of the Big East this year. They are a solid team that has multiple jump shooters. They are fourth in the country in Field Goal Percentage and first in 3pt Field Goal Percentage. Fun Fact…Baylor fans would have probably saw a lot more of Doug McDermott if his dad would have stayed at Iowa State.

2. If Doug McDermott (Creighton’s Stud Muffin) scores more than 30 points. In the 10 games he has scored more than 30 points, they are 10-0 with a winning margin of over 13 points.

3. If Ethan Wragge (Creighton’s best 3pt shooter) hits more than five 3pt shots. He has done this three times all ending in Creighton wins. Fun Fact…Ethan Wragge is currently the 17th best 3pt shooter in the country…the 18th…one Brady Heslip. Same percentage as Wragge but on more attempts.

In the round of 16 (My pick is Oregon):

Oregon will get past BYU…it will not be easy, but they will. The first time these two teams met, it took overtime at home for the Ducks to beat the Cougars. They will then have to, with almost certainty, play Wisconsin. Wisconsin has not been your normal Bo Ryan coached team this year as they are scoring at a much higher clip then normal, but they will not be able to run with Oregon.

Oregon is a PAC 12 member that has had a season a lot similar to Baylor’s. They started conference play 3-8, finished 8-1! Does that sound familiar BU fans (2-8 then 10-2)? Fun Fact…Oregon’s team was originally known as the Webfoots!

4. If Oregon turns the game into a football matchup between the two schools. If the game turns into a offensive shootout then Baylor maybe in trouble. Oregon has scored 90 or more points in nine games this year, going 8-1 in those games. Oregon likes to run which could be an issue with Baylor’s zone defense.
