The Olympic Games are well underway in the resort town of Sochi and the United States have gotten off to a solid start. According to SB Nation's Medal Tracker, the Americans are currently in fourth place in the standings, with one gold and one bronze. Thanks to the distance skiing events, the Norwegians are currently sitting at the top of the pack. The Mothership has all the Winter Olympic news you could ever want. I would recommend the "Olympics, How Do They Work?" series for a better look at the sports we all watch, but have little idea of what is actually happening.
My observations from yesterday's events: Watching moguls makes my knees want to explode, the fifteen year old Russian figure skater is a master of spin, and Archer is hilarious. Wait, that last one wasn't Olympics related...
On to Baylor sports news!
In Season: Men's and Women's Basketball
Men's Hoops Falls at Oklahoma, 88-72 - BaylorBears.com
Isaiah Austin scored a season-high 21 points and showcased a nasty drop-step three, yet the Bears could not muster whatever it was they needed to beat Oklahoma. Three pointers rained down all night in Norman; the Sooners rarely missed from downtown and when they did, they got the rebound. I don't really know what to say that hasn't already been said about this team, nor do I really want to say anything else about this team, so we're going to move on to Women's ball.

Last time the Cowgirls and the Lady Bears faced off, Baylor pulled off a three-point overtime thriller in Stillwater. Today, the Cowgirls will come to Waco seeking revenge. A loud, proud home crowd will be awaiting them as the Lady Bears look to maintain their lead in the Big 12 title race. Odyssey Sims will be continuing her trek towards earning the National Player of the Year award while Nina Davis keeps on being a rebounding machine. Be there.

I just wish there were some way we could hear more from Ms. Josie Drago about working for Baylor sports...
Best of the Rest
All the sports things happened on Saturday.
Hosack Ties Doubles Record in Softball's Rout of UC Davis, 18-1 - BaylorBears.com
The Lady Bears Softball are in Las Vegas for UNLV's Sportco Kick-Off Classic. On Saturday they destroyed UC Davis and as of this writing, they are leading UNLV 5-0 headed into the bottom of the fourth inning. I'll update this is in the morning.
T&F Wins Three Events At Texas A&M Aggie Invitational - BaylorBears.com
Track and Field went to Aggieland for the second time this season and earned a fourth place finish.
Women's Tennis Takes Down No. 22 Rice, 6-1 - BaylorBears.com
The No. 19 Lady Bears advanced to 7-1 with their fifth straight win over our neighbors from Houston.
No. 2 Bears Handle Delaware State - BaylorBears.com
I admit, I know next to nothing about Equestrian other than Baylor is really good at it. Baylor defeated the Hornets 16-4. Props to you if you knew that Delaware State exists and that their mascot is the Hornets, because I sure did not.
Marcus Smart
Marcus Smart shoved Texas Tech super fan Jeff Orr last night following something said by Orr. Here's SB Nation's article on the man. Gary Parrish of CBS Sports wrote a column about this incident as well.
Marcus, that was not... *puts on sunglasses* ...Smart. YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Other Happenings
Eden Hazard scored his first ever hat-trick as the Blues of Chelsea fell Newcastle 3-0. - We Ain't Got No History
Due to Peter's Liverpool crushing Arsenal 5-1 (thanks for that) and Manchester City dropping points against Norwich City, your author's favourite Premiere League team are now at the top of the table! Sic 'em Blues!
This entire stream is full of excellent college basketball GIFs, but here is the best one:
Frank Mason, that is nasty.
48 points on 18 of 24 shots. Granted, it was against TCU, but still, that's impressive.
SMU pulled off a massive upset of No. 7 Cincinnati last night.
The Mustangs have been quickly moving their way towards a Top 25 ranking. If Baylor plays like they've playing in their conference losses, SMU would likely beat them.
Podcast Plug
Tonight Mark and Peter are visiting with the highly talented Josie Drago, the genius behind the music selections you heard all season at Floyd Casey Stadium! We're very excited to have her on the pod to talk about her role in the Bears' historic run in 2013, her role as Mistress of Beats for Baylor Football and Baseball. We're very excited to have her on the show, but we want your participation. If you have any questions that you'd like to ask Ms. Drago, please send us an email and we'll ask them on the podcast.
Also, we'd like to have a healthy set of No Huddle questions to ask her. It's been awhile, so here's a refresher: No Huddle questions are rapid-fire questions intended to be answered with little to no thought in one or two words, or at most a sentence.
As always, send us questions of either type at OurDailyPodcast(at)gmail(dot)com. Thanks everyone!
That's all for today folks! Have an enjoyable Sunday and I'll see all y'all at the Ferrell Center at 3:00! Sic 'em!
