Wednesday DBR: Gameday

It's Gameday y'all! - Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Enough of this moping about, let's play some basketball!

Good morning everyone and welcome to today's edition of the Daily Bears Report. Guess what? It's Gameday! Your Lady Bears take on Kansas State at the Ferrell Center tonight at 7:00 PM, be there. There is a good deal of news regarding football; recruiting season is in full swing and a couple former Bears are ripping up the Senior Bowl practices. In other news, the FLOTUS dunks on the Miami Heat and Anthony Calvillo blows Doge's mind with the number of passing yards he put up in his career. Such yards. Mind blown.

Additionally, Our Daily Podcast recorded last night, so be sure to look out for that in the coming days.

In-Season: Men's and Women's Basketball

Official Baylor Preview

WTH Preview

Last time the Lady Bears faced off against the Wildcats, they handled the ladies from Manhattan with ease, winning 92-63. From a purely statistical standpoint, this game today should end in another Baylor victory. But as Baylor fans know all too well, games aren't played on paper. Further complicating matters, Kansas State beat #13 Iowa State at KSU four days ago, which means they will be riding high off of the momentum of a big victory. Baylor, meanwhile, is on a two game losing streak, which hasn't happened since the 2009-2010 season.

Additionally, this game is a "We Back Pat" game. This sounds like a great way to support one of the greatest Women's Basketball Coaches of all time. From the link above:

Baylor's game vs. Kansas State has been designated a "We Back Pat" game which supports the Pat Summitt Foundation in its fight against Alzheimer's disease. Players from both schools will be wearing, "We Back Pat" shooting shirts pregame and Baylor spirit squad members and the Courtside Players will also be wearing "We Back Pat" shirts.

If you didn't go to the BlackOUt game or simply need reminding, head over here for a reminder on the new traditions at Baylor basketball games.

The Men's team play the Texas Longhorns at home this Saturday at 12:30.

Off-season: Football

Ahmad Dixon and Cyril Richardson are in Alabama for the Reese's Senior Bowl. Both turned heads yesterday at practice.

Yes, that is the same Aaron Donald who beat out Richardson for the Outland Trophy.

Meanwhile, Junior Day is this weekend and TCGAB and his team have been out 'crootin.

2016 Allen High School CB Jaylon Jones.

Spring Ball is coming.

The Best of the Rest

Softball opens up at #18 in the pre-season rankings.

Other Happenings

The Miami Heat visited the White House and recorded a video with some healthy tips. It wouldn't be a Heat video without some good ole videobombing; that's where the FLOTUS Michelle Obama comes in. Just do yourself a favor and watch: FLOTUS DUNK! Also check out the Gus Johnson version.

Remember the Norwegian Curling Team's awfully awesome pants? They're back!

The Winter Olympics are in a few weeks, so you can expect more updates about it in the near future.

The mayor of the Rose City went full-on Richard Sherman in a feud with a local newspaper. It was about as incredible as a Portland Timbers home crowd.

Finally, Anthony Calvillo passed for all the yards. 79,816 is a massive amount of anything, especially passing yards. That's over 45 miles. That's roughly the distance Galveston is from Houston.
