Friday Afternoon Video: There is No Dancing at Baylor University

Wait, what?

In 1845, Baylor University was chartered by the Republic of Texas. It was the first University in Texas and one of the first found West of the Mississippi River.

In 1996, Baylor President Robert Sloan lifted the ban on dancing and then proceeded to dance with his wife to a minuet by Beethoven in front of the student center - which was abruptly cut short when the band broke into Glenn Miller's "In the Mood" and good ol' Bobby jumped right into the jitterbug.

In 2012, Baylor hosted the 7th Annual Battle of the Burning Sands, a step show that pulled in groups from around the region and had more than 2,000 people in attendance. It also gave us this:


In 2013, Adam J Morris continued to make the joke that Baylor Bears don't dance, approximately 7 days before the 8th Annual Battle of the Burning Sands.
