So, contrary to what we heard a few days ago, Baylor is now OUT on PF Kyle Washington, who was supposed to visit this weekend. According to Ashley Hodge of BearsTruth, the decision was mutual in that when Baylor received the commitment of Johnathan Motley a few days ago, we no longer needed to recruit another PF for this class. Washington substituted Iowa State and Marquette for Baylor on his latest list.

Also, and this may qualify in the "recruiting news that doesn't end up concerning Baylor," 2013 4* SG Xavier Rathan-Mayes will narrow his list to 3 schools tonight via his twitter account. I say that I don't know how much it might concern Baylor because I don't really know if we're still a player. Our coaches supposedly love, and have a better-than-fair chance with, Isaac Hamilton. He and XRM would be redundant in the same way as Washington and Motley. As bad as it might be to stop recruiting one in the hopes of getting the other and then end up with neither, that's what may happen. If Baylor makes that final cut, I'll update this post.

UPDATE: I was right to question whether this mattered to us because we didn't make the cut. FSU hasn't to be considered the favorite considering his father's connection to the school.

Another name to know just in case is that of Ishmail Wainright, a 4* SF from Montrose Christian Academy. I honestly can't tell from his profile whether he goes to school now in Maryland or Missouri, but it's clear he's originally from Kansas City. If you'd like to follow him on twitter, you can.
