Despite the speculation last week about Gathers' intentions and/or motivations behind delaying his signing for a few days, 4* PF Ricardo Gathers from Riverside HS in Reserve, Louisiana signed his National Letter of Intent just a few moments ago in a ceremony in his HS gymnasium. Gathers is, by all accounts, Baylor's second highest-ranked recruit in the 2012 class behind 5* center Isaiah Austin, but I have a sneaking suspicion that, due to the likelihood that Austin will leave after a year (or maybe two, if we're lucky) for the NBA, that Gathers may be the most important recruit in the class. I am extremely excited to have him as part of the Baylor family, and now we can say that he is officially.
